Sexual harassment

It means an act that causes harm, such as displeasure, humiliation, or disadvantage in employment, through sexual words and actions.
Sexual harassment can be divided into workplace sexual harassment, physical sexual harassment, verbal sexual harassment, etc. depending on the location and type (appearance).

Sexual assault

It refers to inflicting mental, psychological, and physical damage to the other person against the will of the other person through sexual acts.
Many people think of “rape,” but sexual violence is a more comprehensive concept, and it refers to the inflicting psychological, psychological, and physical damage to the other party against the will of the other party through sexual acts.
Therefore, in addition to “rape,” sexual assault includes sexual assault, public obscenity, prostitution, assault by abuse of occupational authority, and special rape.

Sexual harassment

Sexual harassment is an act that causes sexual shame in the other person by making physical contact in order to obtain sexual satisfaction.
According to the specific case, sexual harassment is punished according to the Indecent Assault under the Criminal Act, Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Assault, and the Protection Act on the Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse, etc.

Prostitution

If an unspecified person receives or promises to receive money, valuables or other property benefits, and engages in sexual intercourse or similar sexual acts using oral and anal body parts or tools, imprisonment up to one year or a fine of not more than 3 million won, detention, or penalty can be imposed.

Other sexual offenses (sex offenses under the special law)

In addition, according to the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Assault, crimes of sexual violence such as rape, quasi-rape, forced molestation, adultery against minors, molestation in public places, and filming using cameras, etc. are punished more comprehensively and in detail.
Among them, the most problematic are “the crime of using a camera, etc.” and “the crime of trespassing in public places for sexual purposes.”
